Five people are dead, including the suspected perpetrator, after a shooting Monday at a corporate office building in Midtown Manhattan, according to officials.

One of the deceased was identified as a New York Police Department officer. A surviving victim was reportedly shot and critically wounded, and four others who sustained minor injuries while attempting to flee the scene are being treated in hospital.
